Trump Renews Attacks on Adam Schiff
Allegations Resurface
Former President Donald Trump reignited claims that Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) committed mortgage fraud,
accusing him of falsely listing a Maryland home as his primary residence for “better mortgage terms.”
Schiff, who bought the property in 2009, strongly denies the allegations.
Trump’s Claims
In a Truth Social post, Trump called Schiff a “scam artist,”
alleging that Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division uncovered “a pattern of fraud” in refinancing deals through 2020.
Yet, he offered no direct evidence and later admitted he was “not sure about the specific details.”
Schiff’s Response
Schiff dismissed the accusations as “politically motivated and baseless,” linking them to his role in Trump’s impeachment.
His spokesperson said lenders knew about Schiff’s dual residences and congressional duties.
Ongoing Dispute
The claims stem from a complaint by Republican investigator Christine Bish,
but critics note that constitutional rules only require Schiff to live in California at election time.
