Trump Renews Attacks on Adam Schiff
Allegations Resurface
Former President Donald Trump reignited claims that Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) committed mortgage fraud,
accusing him of falsely listing a Maryland home as his primary residence for โbetter mortgage terms.โ
Schiff, who bought the property in 2009, strongly denies the allegations.
Trumpโs Claims
In a Truth Social post, Trump called Schiff a โscam artist,โ
alleging that Fannie Maeโs Financial Crimes Division uncovered โa pattern of fraudโ in refinancing deals through 2020.
Yet, he offered no direct evidence and later admitted he was โnot sure about the specific details.โ
Schiffโs Response
Schiff dismissed the accusations as โpolitically motivated and baseless,โ linking them to his role in Trumpโs impeachment.
His spokesperson said lenders knew about Schiffโs dual residences and congressional duties.
Ongoing Dispute
The claims stem from a complaint by Republican investigator Christine Bish,
but critics note that constitutional rules only require Schiff to live in California at election time.
