7-Year-Old Boy Tells Mom He Is Not Alone at Night, Mom Puts Camera in His Room — New Story Of the Day

Seven-year-old Christopher repeatedly insists that a monster lurks in his closet, terrifying his mother, Lacey. At first, she reassures him that there’s nothing to fear, turning on a night light to ease his worries. However, night after night, Chris remains anxious, claiming that the creature watches him while he sleeps. His growing distress concerns Lacey, who begins to suspect that something unusual might be happening in his room.

Determined to ease her son’s fears, Lacey sets up a nanny cam to monitor his bedroom overnight. The following morning, she reviews the footage—and what she sees leaves her frozen with shock. A small, disheveled boy emerges from Chris’s closet in the middle of the night, cautiously stepping into the dimly lit room. The boy lingers near Chris’s bed for a moment before retreating back into the closet, disappearing into the shadows.

Panicked yet intrigued, Lacey immediately searches the closet, and to her astonishment, she finds the boy huddled in a corner, looking scared but not aggressive. After a tense moment, he hesitantly introduces himself as Victor. He explains that he has been secretly living in the closet for some time, hiding from his stepmother, who has been cruel to him. He admits that he originally came to their house after attending Chris’s birthday party, where he felt safe and happy for the first time in a long while. Not wanting to return home, he found a way to stay without being noticed—until now.

Horrified by Victor’s confession, Lacey doesn’t hesitate to report the situation to the authorities. After an investigation, it is confirmed that Victor has been enduring severe mistreatment at home. His stepmother and father are arrested, ensuring that he will never have to suffer under their care again. Meanwhile, Chris—who had always sensed Victor’s presence—feels relieved that his “monster” was never a threat but rather a scared child in need of help.

Wanting to provide Victor with the loving home he deserves, Lacey takes steps to adopt him. The process takes time, but in the end, Victor officially becomes part of their family. The once-terrified boy who hid in a closet now has a room of his own, filled with warmth and security. He and Chris quickly form an unbreakable bond, becoming more than just friends—they are brothers. Lacey, once fearful of a monster in the night, now sees Victor as a blessing, grateful that fate brought him into their lives.
