Tragic Accident
Beloved Mexican TV journalist Debora Estrella, 43, died in a plane crash during her first flying lesson on September 20, 2025.
She was alongside instructor Bryan Ballesteros when their small Cessna went down near García, Nuevo León.
Civil Protection confirmed both fatalities.
A Passion for Flying
Friends said Estrella had recently begun flying lessons, dreaming of earning her pilot’s license.
Víctor Martínez recalled her telling him, “I’m going to start flying, learn a bit about it, and one day we’ll fly together.”
Career and Legacy
Estrella started at TV Azteca in 2014 and later anchored Telediario Matutino on Channel 6.
Colleague Maria Julia Lafuente said, “If there is one thing we can all learn from her,
it is to live life to the fullest and not waste a single moment.”

Fans remembered her warmth and humor: “Fly high Debora.
Rest in peace,” wrote one. Others celebrated her smile and fearless spirit.
