Federal Crackdown in Memphis

President Donald Trumpโ€™s decision to federalize Memphis is โ€œshowing early signs of success,โ€

as crime rates fall amid thousands of arrests. The operation began Sept.

29 with support from the National Guard and a federal task force including the FBI, ATF, and DOJ.

Arrests and Seizures

As of Thursday, officials reported 2,213 arrests, including 139 gang members, 379 firearms seized, and 97 missing children recovered.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said, โ€œThe numbers clearly show that Memphis is safer thanks to President Trumpโ€™s federal surge.โ€

Crime Reduction

City data shows murders down 52%, robberies 66%, and motor vehicle thefts nearly 80%.

Overall crime has dropped 46.65% since the operation began.

Ongoing Support

An additional 158 National Guard members are joining to assist federal agents.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the president โ€œwants to work with anyoneโ€ฆ to bring law and order to our streets.โ€
