The Unmatched Innocence of

The room falls silent. Daddy looks shocked, his face pale, and Mummyโ€™s eyes widen in disbelief.

โ€œExcuse me?โ€ Mummy finally says, her voice trembling between anger and panic.

The little girl innocently repeats, โ€œYou know, like you and Uncle Jack did when Daddy was in Vancouver. I saw it through the keyhole that time, too.โ€

Daddy raises an eyebrow and smirks, suddenly looking less guilty. โ€œOh, really, Mummy?โ€ he says, crossing his arms.

Mummy stammers, โ€œI-I think you must have misunderstood, sweetie.โ€

The little girl shakes her head with confidence. โ€œNope! It looked just the same. But Uncle Jack is way funnierโ€”he made silly faces while you two were on the bed!โ€

Daddy tries to hold back a laugh, while Mummyโ€™s face turns crimson. โ€œThatโ€™s enough bedtime stories for tonight!โ€ she snaps, ushering the little girl toward her room.

As the little girl skips away, Daddy turns to Mummy with a sly grin. โ€œAttorney in the morning, huh?โ€

Mummy glares at him and mutters, โ€œDonโ€™t push your luck.โ€
