Hospital Dispute After Charlie Kirk’s Assassination Sparks Debate

The assassination of Charlie Kirk on Sept. 10 shook the nation.

At Englewood Health in New Jersey, it also triggered a workplace clash that quickly made headlines.

A Nurse Speaks Out

Nurse Lexi Kuenzle said she was disturbed when colleague Dr. Matthew

Jung allegedly celebrated Kirk’s death, saying he

“had it coming” and “deserved it.” She reported him,

later telling Fox News Digital, “Speaking up wasn’t optional for me;

it was my duty as a nurse to protect patients from that kind of cruelty.”

Investigation and Fallout

Both Kuenzle and Jung were suspended while the hospital investigated.

Kuenzle then filed a lawsuit, alleging retaliation. Englewood Health later confirmed Jung had resigned,

while Kuenzle would continue her shifts. “The nurse was never fired… and will not miss any pay,” the hospital said.

Free Speech or Professionalism?

The case has fueled debate: was Jung exercising free speech, or did his remarks cross a line for medical professionals entrusted with compassion?
