Senate Approval
The U.S. Senate confirmed Rodney Scott as head of Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
in a 51-46 party-line vote, with Republicans in favor and Democrats opposed.
CBP, the largest enforcement agency within DHS, has about 65,000 employees and includes the Border Patrol and Office of Field Operations.
Career and Advocacy
Scott previously served as Border Patrol Chief, stepping down in August 2021 after
opposing politically motivated changes, including a mandate to replace “illegal alien” with “undocumented immigrant.”
He continued advocating for stricter border enforcement,
supporting Remain in Mexico, Safe Third Country agreements, and border wall construction.
