Schiff Could Face Fines, Prison Time if Class

Whistleblowerโ€™s Claims Against Schiff

A Democrat whistleblower, backed by FBI interview reports,

alleges Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) authorized leaking classified intelligence during the

Trumpโ€“Russia investigation to damage then-President Trump.

The whistleblower said Schiff told staff โ€œthe group would leak classified information which was derogatory to Presidentโ€ฆ Trumpโ€ and use it โ€œto indict President Trump.โ€

Objections and Fallout

The source claimed he objected, calling the plan โ€œunethical and possibly treasonous,โ€ but was assured leaks would not be traced.

He identified Rep. Eric Swalwell as a possible conduit and said he was later fired after going to the FBI.

Legal Risks

Former U.S. Attorney Brett Tolman warned Schiff could face severe penalties if charged. โ€œThe fine is up to $250,000 for every leak thatโ€™s charged,โ€ he said, adding some cases could mean โ€œup to 20 years in federal prison.โ€

FBI Criticism

Critics accuse the FBI, led by Director Christopher Wray, of ignoring misconduct by political figures while targeting opponents. Schiff has not responded to the new allegations.
