People Are Coming Out As Berris**ual

What โ€œBerrisualโ€ Means โ€” and Why Itโ€™s Gaining Attention Online**

A new identity term, berrisual**, is emerging across online queer spaces like Reddit,

Tumblr, and LGBTQ+ wikis. It describes people who are attracted to

women and feminine or androgynous genders,

but only rarely to men or masculine genders.

As one Urban Dictionary entry explains,

it refers to โ€œsomeone attracted to women and feminine genders and androgynous genders,

but also very rarely attracted to men and masculine genders.โ€

On Tumblr, users say it fits those who โ€œusually only feel

attraction to feminine or nonbinary people, but occasionally to masculine ones.โ€

Many who adopt the label say it helps them express their attraction more precisely.

One Reddit user wrote, โ€œNow I donโ€™t have to pick because berri fits like a glove.โ€

While still new and niche, berrisual** highlights how people continue to

develop language that captures the fluid, nuanced nature of attraction and identity.
