Trump: Suspect in Charlie Kirk Assassination Arrested
President Donald Trump announced that authorities believe they have captured the
suspect in the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Speaking to Fox News, Trump said, โI think we have himโฆ heโs in custody,โ stressing his confidence in the arrest.
Trump suggested the suspect was betrayed by someone close, possibly โa minister, fatherโ figure,
who aided law enforcement.
He also expressed hope for a conviction and the death penalty, calling Kirk โlike a son.โ
Kirk, 31, was founder of Turning Point USA and a rising conservative voice,
credited with mobilizing young voters and bolstering Trumpโs digital outreach.
His killing has left a major void in the movement.
The arrest comes after weeks of pressure on a joint FBI, Secret Service, and local task force.
Authorities have not released the suspectโs name, and details of the case remain scarce.
Kirkโs death has already reshaped political debate, drawing tributes nationwide while sparking concerns over security and rhetoric. Trump vowed to carry on Kirkโs mission, declaring, โWeโre going to keep fighting for what Charlie believed in.โ
