Charlie Kirk’s Fatal Shooting at Utah Valley University
The Attack
Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot while hosting a debate at Utah Valley University on September 10.
He was addressing a crowd of about 3,000 when a bullet struck his neck, sparking chaos.
Reporter Emma Pitts recalled, “We all dropped to the ground… and then everyone around us got up and started running.”
Suspect Arrested
Police arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, accused of firing from a rooftop 200 yards away.
He faces charges including aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, and witness tampering.
Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray confirmed prosecutors will seek the death penalty.
Analysis of Kirk’s Final Moments
Videos of the incident spread online. Neuropsychologist Derek Van Schaik analyzed them,
stating Kirk’s movement was “an involuntary defensive reflex,” not a sign of brain injury.
“There was no panic, no dread,” Van Schaik said. “Only an abrupt blackout.”
