Tens of thousands gathered on Sunday to honor Charlie Kirk,
the late founder of Turning Point USA, at one of the largest memorials ever held for a private citizen.
About 70,000 filled State Farm Stadium in Arizona, with another 100,000 watching online.
The event, titled “Building A Legacy, Remembering Charlie Kirk,” featured performances and
speeches from prominent figures, including Donald Trump.
Bulletproof Glass Raises Eyebrows
A striking feature of the memorial was the bulletproof glass surrounding the main podium—unusual for an indoor event.
One viewer commented, “The podium at Charlie Kirk’s funeral is enclosed in bulletproof glass,
something rarely seen at an indoor event.”
Another wrote, “Interior events do not normally use bulletproof glass, but at the Charlie Kirk memorial, security is next level.”
The measure follows last year’s assassination attempt on Trump and reflects heightened security concerns.

While many saw the glass as a necessary precaution, some felt it symbolized a troubling divide between leaders and the public.

Trump and his team also watched from behind bulletproof glass, prompting questions about the state of democracy and public discourse in America.
Erika Kirk’s Powerful Message
Erika Kirk, Charlie’s widow, delivered an emotional message after his assassination during a speech at Utah Valley University.
In a video, she warned, “You have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country, and this world.” She added, “My husband’s voice will remain and it will ring out louder and more clearly than ever.”
