Leaked Documents Reveal DSA Influence Over New NYC Mayor
New York City’s politics have been shaken by leaked documents suggesting the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)
are pressuring new Mayor Zohran Mamdani to adopt strong anti-Israel policies.
Mamdani, 34, the city’s first Muslim and openly socialist mayor,
defeated Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa, calling his win a “historic mandate for change.”
But files from the DSA’s Anti-War Working Group describe plans to make City Hall “a testing ground for socialist and anti-Israel policies.”
Proposed actions include divesting city funds from Israeli assets,
cutting contracts with Israel-linked companies, and investigating real estate ties to the West Bank.
A resurfaced 2023 clip shows Mamdani saying,
“When the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it has been laced by the IDF.”
Critics cite this as proof of bias, while allies insist his focus is social justice.
As Mamdani takes office, New York faces a new political crossroads —
hailed by some as progress, feared by others as radicalism
