Vice President JD Vance says he’s not focused on a 2028 presidential run,
insisting his priority is doing his current job well.
Speaking on My View with Lara Trump, Vance said if he performs in 2025 and 2026,
“the politics will figure itself out.” He stressed that Americans are tired of
politicians looking ahead to their next role too soon, adding that if he ever runs,
it won’t be handed to him.
Vance praised Donald Trump’s work ethic and leadership style, noting how the president’s nonstop schedule keeps him and others constantly engaged.
While speculation grows about his future, Vance emphasized that Trump remains in
“incredibly good health” despite his age. He said he is confident the president will finish
his term strong, but acknowledged he’s prepared to step in if necessary.
Vance noted that tragedies can happen but believes his experience alongside Trump is the
best possible training. A recent White House memo confirmed Trump’s health concerns were minor and related to common conditions, dismissing rumors about his fitness to serve.
