How to make yourself eligible after Donald Trump

1. Trump’s $2,000 “Dividend” Plan

Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that nearly all Americans will get a “dividend”

funded by tariff revenue. He said tariffs have made the U.S. the

“richest, most respected country in the world,” adding: “People that are against Tariffs are FOOLS!”

2. Who May Qualify

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the payments might go to families earning under “$100,000,”

though details are still “being discussed.”

If used, this cap could make about 150 million Americans eligible, costing an estimated $300 billion.

3. Not Just Checks

Bessent cautioned the $2,000 might not be a direct check, saying it “could come in lots of forms,”

including tax breaks like “no tax on tips” and overtime.

The White House says Trump is “committed” to delivering the benefit.

4. Funding Concerns

Tariff revenue is far below what’s needed. Despite projections of $3 trillion over a decade,

using future funds would increase the already $38 trillion national debt.
