Caribbean and Southeast U.S. Experien

Extreme weather and environmental events are hitting the Caribbean and

southeastern United States at the same time, placing added strain on communities.

The week began with a minor earthquake near Trinidad, which caused little damage but added to an already active period.

Heavy rain in parts of Central America has led to flooding and forced

some families to relocate, worsening conditions in areas already dealing with seasonal downpours.

A large Saharan dust plume has also moved across the Caribbean, reducing visibility and affecting air quality.

Health officials advise people with breathing issues to limit outdoor activity, and airlines are monitoring conditions.

Meteorologists are tracking Tropical Storm Flossie along with several developing systems in the Atlantic, noting that warm waters could help them strengthen.

Officials stress that the combined impact of these events is the real challenge.

Residents are urged to stay updated, follow safety guidance, and keep basic supplies ready as conditions evolve.
