A mass shooting struck Bondi Beach in Sydney on Sunday evening,

making it one of Australiaโ€™s deadliest attacks in decades.

The violence began around 6:45 p.m. during a Hanukkah event called

โ€œChanukah by the Sea,โ€ attended by families and community members.

Police Response

New South Wales Police quickly locked down the area, creating a large exclusion zone.

Officers confronted two suspects during the response.

One alleged shooter was killed at the scene,

while another was shot by police and taken into custody.
