the Grammy-winning songwriter behind Carrie Underwoodโs smash hit
โJesus, Take the Wheelโ, was killed earlier today in a plane crash.
The tragic incident occurred near an elementary school in North Carolina,
where Jamesโ small aircraft went down around midday.
Authorities confirmed that James, along with two other passengers, did not survive the crash.
Local officials said it was a miracle that no children or staff at the nearby school were harmed,
as the crash happened dangerously close to the playground area.
