A plane carrying 242 people crashed shortly after takeoff in Ahmedabad, India. Air India Flight AI171, bound for London Gatwick, slammed into a medical college dormitory in the Meghani Nagar neighborhood. Authorities confirmed, โThe building on which it has crashed is a doctorsโ hostel.โ Among the passengers were 217 adults and 11 children.
