A Major Court Decision Sends

Supreme Court Allows End to TPS for Venezuelans.

The Supreme Court ruled 8–1 that the executive branch can end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelans, affirming presidential authority over immigration policy. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented, citing humanitarian concerns.

TPS allows people from crisis-hit countries to live and work legally in the U.S.

The Biden administration expanded TPS for Venezuelans, but the current administration reversed it, claiming improved conditions.

About 300,000 Venezuelans now face possible deportation. Advocates warn of severe consequences, while supporters say it restores immigration limits. DHS will begin enforcement cautiously, and legal aid groups expect increased demand.

Calls for permanent immigration reform continue. The ruling clarifies executive control but raises humanitarian questions as thousands face uncertain futures
