A Happy Meal and a Heart Full o

A Small Act of Kindness

After a long day, I stopped by McDonald’s to unwind.

As I waited for my food, I noticed a woman and her young daughter—both neatly dressed but clearly struggling.

The girl’s eyes lit up at the menu, but her mother quietly ordered, “Just the cheeseburger and small fries.”

When the girl asked, “Mommy, can I get the toy?” her mother hesitated and replied, “Maybe next time, sweetie.

Let’s just get the food today.” The girl nodded, offering her mother a small, understanding smile.

Something about their quiet exchange moved me.

Before leaving, I asked the cashier to “add a Happy Meal to their order—just don’t tell them who it’s from.”

When the meal arrived, the girl’s face “lit up like a Christmas tree.”

Her joy filled the room, and I walked out feeling lighter, reminded that “sometimes, a little joy comes from the simplest of places.”
