Boy Walks Barefoot Through Snow to Save Baby Sister from Abuse
A Midnight Rescue
Just after 1 a.m. in Vermont, seven-year-old Theo Bennett walked barefoot into
St. Catherine’s Hospital, clutching his baby sister Amelie wrapped in a thin blanket.
Nurses were shocked to see the bruised child whisper, “My sister’s hungry… we can’t go home.”
Nurse Olivia Grant comforted him as doctors and police were called.
Escape from Danger
Theo told them, “It’s my stepfather. He hits me when Mom’s asleep… he said he’d make her quiet forever.”
Detective Felix Monroe sent officers to the Bennett home, where they found Rick Bennettdrunk and violent.
