Two Minnesota lawmakers, former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and Senator John Hoffman, were targeted in politically driven shootings. Hortman and her husband were killed at home, while Hoffman and his wife survived an earlier attack.

The FBI released images of suspect Vance Luther Boelter, 57, dressed as a police officer. “It was not a real police officer,” said Police Chief Mark Bruley. The assailant opened fire on responding officers and fled.
