Trump’s Health Under Scrutiny
Donald Trump’s health has once again become a topic of public interest. Despite frequently questioning Joe Biden’s fitness, Trump’s own medical condition is now in the spotlight. During his reelection campaign against Kamala Harris, Trump declined to release his full medical records, though he claimed to be in “perfect physical and mental shape.” At 78, he is the oldest U.S. president to begin a second term.
In April, White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella released a report declaring Trump “fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief.” The report listed Trump at 6’3″, 224 pounds, with normal heart, eye, and throat scans. He also had a colonoscopy in 2024, during which a benign polyp and diverticulitis were found. Barbabella also noted past cataract surgery and prescriptions for cholesterol and skin conditions, adding, “President Trump exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health.”
Social Media Speculation
On June 9, an image of Trump at a UFC event triggered speculation online that he was wearing a Foley catheter under his pants. Posts claimed visible tubing and leg braces suggested serious medical issues. One viral post read, “That line down his pants? Not a crease. It’s tubing… Every step he takes sounds like the sloshing of a warm Capri Sun.” Others defended him, stating, “That pant leg is close fitting and that perfectly straight line is a crease.”
Official Response
Fact-checking site Snopes investigated. White House spokesperson Steven Cheung dismissed the rumors: “The recent medical report… clearly and unequivocally shows he is in peak condition.” He called the claims “conspiracy theories peddled by demented individuals… suffering from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
