Trump Announces Arrest in Charlie Kirk Assassination Case
Suspect in Custody
Following the shocking assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk,
President Donald Trump announced that authorities believe they’ve captured the killer.
“I think we have him,” Trump told Fox News.
He added that the arrest came after “a minister,
a father” close to the suspect turned him in, saying, “That’s what made the difference.”
Call for Justice
Trump demanded severe punishment, stating, “I hope he’s found guilty—and I hope he gets the death penalty for what he did.”
Prosecutors are expected to seek the harshest charges possible.
A Personal Loss
Kirk, 31, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University.
At his memorial, Trump called him “like a son,” praising his intelligence and impact on young conservatives.
Ongoing Investigation
While confident in the arrest, Trump said, “We’re going to get justice,” as investigators continue probing possible accomplices and extremist ties.
