Mass Shooting at Michigan Church
A gunman drove his truck into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc,
Michigan, on Sunday morning, shooting congregants and setting the building on fire.
At least four people were killed and eight injured, with the gunman killed by police.
Details of the Attack
Authorities said the suspect, 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford, โran the vehicle through the front door, exited and started firing shots.โ J
ames Deir, ATF Special Agent, noted the fire was started deliberately using gasoline.
The chapel is a โtotal loss,โ and investigators are combing the rubble.

The FBI is leading the probe, calling it an โact of targeted violence.โ
Officials are reviewing threats and potential motives. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said, โViolence anywhere, especially in a place of worship, is unacceptable.โ

President Trump called it โanother targeted attack on Christians in the United States,โ urging prayers for victims. Church spokesperson Doug Anderson emphasized, โPlaces of worship are meant to be sanctuaries of peacemaking, prayer and connection.โ
