Willie Brown Questions Harris’s Future

Vice President Kamala Harris is again facing speculation after her longtime mentor,

former San Francisco mayor Willie Brown, questioned her next steps in politics.

In a recent interview, Brown said, “She may not want to run for governor of the state of California.

That may not be where she should be going.”

Concerns About Leadership Fit

Brown, 91, praised Harris’s legal skills but doubted her executive ability.

Podcaster Jon Slavet recalled, “He talked about her strengths in the legal world, but not as an executive,

which to me was pretty stunning because this is a guy who knows her very well.”

The Attorney General “What-If”

Brown even claimed he once advised Harris to seek attorney general instead of vice president, believing,

“She’s better in the legal world than as an executive.”

Uncertain Path Ahead

While Harris’s historic role as vice president is secure, Brown’s remarks highlight doubts about her pursuing the governorship or future executive positions.
