Tragic Boating Crash in Miami Claims Two Young Lives
A boating accident on July 28, 2025, in Biscayne Bay left two girls dead—13-year-old Erin Victoria Ko Han and 7-year-old Mila Yankelevich—after a 60-foot barge collided with their 17-foot sailboat during a youth summer camp. The crash also left two other children critically injured.
A Father’s Grief
Erin’s father, Pil Jye Ko, emotionally recalled her last words: “See you later, Daddy and Mommy.” He described her as “a perfect daughter” and said, “She was all we had.” Upon reaching the hospital, he was devastated to find her lifeless and severely injured: “She had so many injuries on her head, her arms, her legs—everywhere.”
Remembering Erin
Erin, born in Chile to a Korean family, had recently moved to Miami. She spoke several languages and enjoyed volleyball and swimming. Her school and the Chilean Consulate expressed deep condolences.
A Call for Justic
Pil demanded answers, stating, “Two girls are gone, and two other children are in critical condition. This can’t happen.”
