Kelly Clarkson Finally Gets Honest About Her Weight Loss Journey
Fans have watched Kelly Clarkson’s dramatic transformation in recent months. While many speculated about how she lost the weight, Clarkson kept quiet—until now.
Opening Up on Her Talk Show
On a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson sat down with Whoopi Goldberg. Goldberg shared her own experience using weight loss medication, which prompted Clarkson to join in.
“I hadn’t planned to talk about this,” Clarkson told Goldberg and the audience. Then, she dropped the big reveal—she had also been prescribed weight loss medication.
It’s Not What People Think
“Mine is a different one than people assume,” Clarkson said. “But I ended up having to do that, too.”
She explained that her doctor had pushed her for two years before she finally agreed. “I was afraid. I already have thyroid issues,” she added.
Many believed she was taking Ozempic, but she clarified, “It’s not. It’s something else—something that helps break down sugar. My body doesn’t do that properly.”
Lifestyle Changes Weren’t the Whole Story
Previously, Clarkson credited her weight loss to moving around more in New York City and eating a protein-rich diet. While those changes helped, they weren’t the entire reason behind her transformation.
She admitted that a wake-up call came after watching concert footage of herself in Los Angeles. “I was 203 pounds. I didn’t even recognize myself,” she recalled.
She’s Not Alone
Clarkson joins a growing list of celebrities who’ve opened up about using weight loss drugs. Stars like Oprah Winfrey, Rebel Wilson, and Heather Gay have made similar confessions.
