Why are rubber bands tied to truck tires?

Many people are curious about the purpose of the black rubber strings hanging from large trucks. To answer this question, an experienced driver explained that these rubber strings, when placed near the wheels, serve the purpose of cleaning mud and dust off the tires, while also making it easier to check the technical specifications of the tires.

As we know, long-haul trucks often pass through construction sites, making it inevitable for them to encounter mud and debris. The drivers have come up with the idea of tying these rubber strings to solve this problem. Thanks to these rubber strings, the mud and dirt do not splatter everywhere, thus preventing it from affecting other vehicles on the road.
