Woman Issues Terrifying Warning After One Smoke Landed Her On Life Support With Mould In Lungs

The OnlyFans model spent four years battling recurring infections in her lungs caused by fungus

An OnlyFans content creator has issued a powerful warning about the dangers of smoking after a single puff left her unconscious and fighting for her life.

Madelynn May, who was only 16 at the time, took one hit from a joint that had a mix of weed and tobacco. That one moment ended up turning her world upside down and costing her the better part of her teenage years.

“My lungs failed me and started growing mould.” said May, who is now 23 and has built a following of over 600,000 on Instagram.

“I was at my friend’s house and after a puff, I just couldn’t breathe all of a sudden.”

“I kept coughing and eventually passed out from the lack of oxygen.”

The influencer from Memphis continued sharing her story: “While I was unconscious, his mum called the emergency services and I was put on life support in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.”

Once May arrived at the hospital, doctors were at a loss. They couldn’t figure out why her lungs were shutting down so rapidly. What they did know was that she had a severe fungal infection, which was aggressively attacking the protective linings of her respiratory system. But the source of it remained unclear.

“I was being kept alive by a machine pumping me full of medicines to try and help my lungs.” she explained, recalling the terrifying ordeal.

Over the course of the next year, May found herself frequently back in and out of hospitals across Tennessee. Despite the best efforts of medical teams, answers were still few and far between. She was eventually diagnosed with respiratory failure, a dangerous condition where the lungs can’t provide the body with enough oxygen or remove carbon dioxide efficiently.

“I basically had mould everywhere.” she remembered. “It was in my lungs, ears and sinuses.”

“The doctors had to keep going into them to clean off the mould, and I had to walk around with my oxygen tank or my levels would drop really low.”

May went on to describe how the mould kept coming back. Things got so bad that for six straight months she coughed up thick, black phlegm. Even her ear swabs would come out dark whenever she tried to clean them.

Strangely enough, during all that time, she hadn’t told her doctors about that one puff she took before her collapse years earlier.

“By the time I woke up from being on life support, I’d forgotten about the smoking – so the doctors didn’t know about it.” May admitted.

“But during my recovery, one of them asked if I smoked – that’s when it hit me.”

“I remembered the puff and told them about it, and they said it made complete sense.”

She went on to say: “They believe I inhaled fungal spores while smoking the joint, which had both weed and tobacco inside.”

“I will never touch any form of smoke again.”

By the time May reached 20, she was officially declared free from the infection. She decided to go public with her experience to warn others about how dangerous smoking can be.

That step eventually led her into building a successful career on OnlyFans, where she now reportedly makes around $2 million a year.

It’s incredible how life can turn around in ways you’d never expect!
