Tammy Slaton’s Weight Loss Journey
Tammy Slaton, known from 1000-Lb. Sisters, has lost an impressive 440 pounds. Once weighing 725 pounds, she now weighs 285 after bariatric surgery in July 2022. She proudly showed off her progress in a dark blue swimsuit alongside her friend Haley Michelle.
A New Life and Independence
Thanks to her transformation, Tammy no longer needs oxygen, a wheelchair, or a walker. “Just being able to walk and breathe on my own is a huge win,” she said, highlighting how much her health has improved.
Overcoming Challenges
Although Tammy faces some negative comments online, she stays focused on her journey. She wants to inspire others and remains determined despite criticism.

Dr. Eric Smith from the Kentucky Bariatric Institute praised Tammy’s progress beyond numbers, saying, “What I’m most proud of is her actually living a healthier and happier life.” Tammy also shared her motivation: “We’re helping others see they can lose weight too. They’re not alone.”
