Texas Floods Claim Over 100 Lives as One Family Faces Heartbreak

At least 109 people have died and 170 remain missing after sudden floods devastated parts of Texas on July 4, when the Guadalupe River rapidly overflowed.

One of the most heartbreaking stories involves Jeff Ramsey, 61, who is still missing and presumed dead. His son, Jake, shared that his father’s Airstream camper at HTR RV Park in Kerrville was hit by surging waters. Jeff had been staying there with his wife, Tanya, and their dog.

A Final Goodbye

Jake and his sister received a voicemail from their father likely after he had already passed. “He left us a message saying he was not going to make it and that he loved us so much, telling us goodbye,” Jake told the New York Post.

“He said, ‘Buddy. I love you so much. It doesn’t look like we are going to make it. Tell Rachey I love her’.” Jake described the message as short, with the sound of rushing water in the background. “It was strange hearing him say these things—he sounded terrified and panicked.”

A Heroic Act
Even in his final moments, Jeff tried to protect others. At 4:30 a.m., he called Tanya’s mother and brother, who were sleeping in a cabin about 150 yards from the river. Jake said, “He rescued them because they would have slept in and they would have washed away. That cabin was destroyed, completely underwater. He saved their lives.”Heartbreaking Goodbye: Dad’s Last Message To
