Marius Borg Hoiby, the first-born son of Norwegian princess Mette-Marit and convicted criminal Morten Borg, has once again attracted attention for his problematic behavior.

In the latest scandal, 27-year-old Marius admitted that, under the influence of alcohol and cocaine, he physically attacked his girlfriend. Attempts by his lawyer to justify him as wrongly accused were refuted by the testimony of two former partners, who confirmed that he had a history of aggressive behavior.

Marius publicly expressed remorse, promising to check into drug and alcohol rehab.

Marius is the child of Princess Mette-Marit’s relationship with Morten Borg, who has a criminal record. From his mother’s marriage to Crown Prince Haakon, Marius has two half-sisters: Princess Ingrid Alexandra, the future Queen of Norway, and Prince Svere Magnus.
