For many years, I lived under the shadow of heartbreak and confusion.

The sudden disappearance of Lisa left a hole in my life that never truly healed.

but I did everything I could to shield Noah from the sadness.

I wanted him to feel safe, loved, and supported, even if I couldn’t give him all the answers he deserved.

In many ways, he helped me stay grounded.

Years passed, and the search for answers faded into the background.

My focus shifted completely to Noah and building a life that gave him security and joy. Over time, I learned to live without closure, prioritizing the future over the questions of the past.

Now fifteen, Noah has grown into a remarkable young man—tall, intelligent, and kind, with a smile that reminds me of Lisa. He is my greatest achievement, and the reason I never gave up.

It’s a sad fact that some people can be wary of animals that don’t look how they expect them to.

Ace the cat had a tough start in life; as a kitten he found himself homeless and having to fend for himself on the street.

Thankfully, he was rescued and then adopted by a loving family, but an infection meant he lost an eye.

His owners say his unusual appearance does mean some kids are frightened of him and a home security camera was installed to keep tabs on the furry feline.

What the camera did capture was a boy who visited Ace every day and what he did was thankfully caught on camera.

Ace’s owner Norma Maikovich says that the little cat is misunderstood by some of the people he encounters.

“He can sometimes seem scary, especially to children,” Norma Maikovich, Ace’s owner, told The Dodo.  “People are often hesitant to greet him.”

But clearly this isn’t the case for everyone who meets this adorable cat.

Ace absolutely loves to spend the days lying in his owner’s driveway so to keep an eye on him, Norma put up a security camera.

What she saw one day warmed her heart.

A boy was captured on camera visiting the cat every day, undeterred by his appearance, and sits with him, petting and playing with him.

In a video you can see how the boy and Ace cuddle and play with each other. It’s obvious that Ace adores his mate.

‘It’s awesome, this bond they share’

The cat’s true personality comes out as she’s so gentle with her friend and the boy seems so happy to see her and play with her.

“It melted our hearts, not just seeing how much Ace loves this boy, but how familiar they were to each other!” Norma told The Dodo. “Sitting by the front door, as soon as Ace sees his friend, he rushes out to greet him. It’s awesome, this bond they share.”

Today, Ace’s friend no longer needs to sneak into the driveway to play with him; Norma has told the boy he is welcome any time.

“A friend of Ace’s is a friend of ours,” she said. “Once we realized that they were fast friends, it made us really happy.”

I could watch these two play and cuddle all day, it’s so wonderful to see the beautiful nature of both of these friends.

It has been reported that the gunman, who has not yet been named, is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

It has also been reported that one victim has died at the scene, says NBC News. No ICE agents have been shot or injured.

Police responded to the scene around 6:40am local time.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has spoken out on the ordeal and said that a motive for the attack is yet to be determined.

She tweeted: “There was a shooting this morning at the Dallas @ICEgov Field Office. Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities.

“The shooter is deceased by a self-inflicted gun shot wound. While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop.

Noem added: “Please pray for the victims and their families.”

JD Vance has also reacted to the news and said that the ‘obsessive attack on law enforcement’, ICE in particular, ‘must stop’.

“I’m praying for everyone hurt in this attack and for their families,” the vice president went on.

Acting ICE director Todd Lyons has said that the shooter was a ‘possible sniper’ as the they allegedly shot from an elevated position and from ‘an adjacent building’, as per the Dallas Police Department.

The facility the incident took place is used to process detainees before they’re transferred to a detention center, says CNN. Typically it holds a couple of dozen people at a time, a former senior ICE official told the news outlet.

People who were being detained at the facility at the time of the shooting are reportedly among the victims.

Baltimore is grieving the loss of three firefighters after a vacant rowhouse fire turned

deadly on Monday, leaving a fourth critically injured. The victims were Lt. Paul Butrim,

firefighter/paramedic Kelsey Sadler, and EMT/firefighter Kenny Lacayo.

EMT/firefighter John McMaster remains hospitalized on life support.

Together, they had served the city for 44 years.

Mayor Brandon Scott said, “Baltimore owes them the deepest gratitude and respect.”

Fire Chief Niles Ford called them family and vowed to honor their courage.

The blaze broke out in a vacant home previously burned in 2015.

The structure collapsed, trapping the firefighters inside. Despite rescue efforts, Sadler and Lacayo suffered fatal cardiac arrests, while McMaster’s condition remains grave.

At least three people were injured at an ICE facility in

Dallas before a suspected sniper was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on a nearby rooftop.

The situation unfolded at the Texas facility around 7am on Wednesday morning.

The three victims were detainees in ICE custody, Fox4 reported.

Shortly after multiple people were wounded in the shooting,

a suspected gunman was found dead on the roof of a nearby immigration attorney’s office.

ICE Director Todd Lyons confirmed that the shooter is ‘down’,

but did not elaborate on how the suspected gunman died.

The status of all those injured in the shooting is not yet clear, however reports say that some were left in critical condition.

Images showed a large police presence descended on the scene.

In a nearby ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas, another attack took place on July 4 where 10 people were arrested for shooting at law enforcement officers.

Armed assailants with tactical gear were charged with terrorism and aggravated assault for the attack, which officials said at the time was intended to disrupt the ICE facility’s operations.
