Having a unique talent can be a great asset that will serve you well for years to come. However, there may be instances where this talent leads to being picked on during childhood.

Tiffany Mulder is a well-known violinist who has been skilled at playing the violin since her middle school days.

In middle school, there was one person who constantly bullied her. However, that bully ended up coming back to Tiffany to ask for help planning her wedding for free, and learned a valuable lesson in the process.

The girl believed Tiffany would be interested in expanding her portfolio, but Tiffany was already successful and didn’t require any assistance. She has received recognition from various online platforms, such as The Knot.

Tiffany responded, “Hi there! It’s quite presumptuous of you to expect a $2,500 service as a gift. You used to bully me a lot back in middle school for being in the orchestra. And as for building my portfolio, you might not know that I’ve been acknowledged by The Knot and Wedding Wire for 6 consecutive years,” said the violinist from Chicago.

I started building my portfolio when I was just 12 years old. I have been working in the wedding industry for 19 years.

When a little girl noticed her neighbor had a basketball hoop in their driveway, she really wanted to put it to use, so she left a polite note at the door asking if she could. The person responded in the most neighborly way, and it’s warming our hearts.

In her letter, the girl, named Emma, shared that she’d tried to ask permission in person on a few occasions, but she missed them each time. So she took the most wholesome second approach and left a classic “check yes or no” card.

“Dear neighbor,” she wrote in the note on a plain white card. “My name is Emma and I live across the street at 1659. Would it be ok if I shot some hoops on your b-ball hoop after school some days?”

The neighbor gladly gave her free rein of the hoop, and after checking “yes,” he told Emma to “Have Fun!”

He got locked-in syndrome as a result of his drug addiction, leaving him bed ridden for almost a year

Jake Haendel once faced a lot of people’s worst nightmares when he suffered from ‘locked-in syndrome’ for almost a year.

The 36-year-old from Boston, Massachusetts, USA, was in a paralytic state where he could not speak or communicate for 10 months, as a result of his heroin addiction.

A party animal in his youth, he also struggled with depression and insomnia, turning to drinking and drugs as he got older, describing himself as a ‘high-functioning’ addict.

This would later result in him getting locked-in syndrome (LIS), a rare neurological disorder that causes paralysis of all voluntary muscles except those controlling eye movement and blinking.

It horrifyingly meant that he was conscious, but could not move or speak.

In May 2017, Jake started to display some unusual symptoms, such as a higher pitched voice which other people pointed out to him, explaining that he also started to ‘swerve’, and also eventually would start losing his balance while walking.

“I’d have to like put my hands up for the walls on the side to keep my balance he went to get checked out,” he recalled to Inside.

Health professionals got him checked for stroke-like symptoms, though he was sceptical as the symptoms were happening for weeks.

Doctors said that he had a terminal brain condition, giving him six months to live, telling him that within three to four months, he would lose the ability to swallow and talk, losing the ability to walk or even sit upright prior to that.
